Stormy McHurricany

Another end of January, another strong storm. It's like a tradition by now.

We're huge in Finland!

Hold me up against the light like Lupus

It would just be wrong not to listen to the Lupus CD, especially because the lead vocalist is an old high school friend/foe of mine. :D

CSI: Cool Suave Interface

Started playing the CSI game for Playstation2. It's got a damn funny user interface, especially having just played Fahrenheit. And no, I haven't forgotten about a review of that game either... :-))

A diet? Me?

Dinner, January 21 2008

It's incredible that I can eat foods like this and still claim to be on a diet. Looks like my masterplan to turn Malrick into a full blown mall rat is a success :-)

Blu-ray, anybody?

It looks like my cousin and the jewish doctor have reasons for celebrating....

It's a rainy day...

....but I don't care! I'm drinking hot cocoa and surfing the net and feeling fine :-)

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger dies at 28, on the afternoon of January 22, 2008 in New York. What a waste. Drugs have once again claimed a soul. May he rest in the peace he didn't find in life.

Anything's for sale

It seems that there's nothing that can't be turned into a profit these days. When the kids see a show on tv, of course they also have to be able to buy their wheat buns with their favorite characters on. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying.....it is. This story reminds me of the brawl about the McDonalds report card. Any student with straight A or B's gets a free Happy Meal. How any school board can approve of such a thing is way, way beyond me.

Sunshine in the park

I took a walk with Pelle today around the University. it's sunshine and happy days all around, though a little chilly. luckily, we had pepsi a plenty.

Time to rethink strategy?

Magasin du Nord is usually known for high end products and prices. It's kinda disturbing to find a sign like this 3 weeks into January.

It started out so well...

So it's the webcast of the second round of semifinals in the national eurovision song contest 2008. The first 2 songs were well written, well performed. And then Simon Mathew came on looking all suave, and with extremely silly and forgettable lyrics. Not that cool. Then it was a smoke and mirrors performance by Kendra Lou. A ballad with 4 dancers in a frame. Not an internatinal winner. And the songwriters love their own product waaay too much. Sweet memories of you is a motown rip-off, with the female having a weak vocal, and the male part having a terrible stage presence. Spanish soul sounded like a 2008 rerip of Aud Wilken, only way worse in its own regard. I immedeately raised my eyebrows when I heard that Lise Cabble had a song in the mix this year. 2 bad it was in English. It lost a lot of its appeal because of that. And also the singer toally exaggerated his performance. I think I'm starting to sound a little bitter, aren't I? Faroe punk finalized the show. It was actually the most entertaining entry all night. Totally predictable, and with 4 pharaoes. Straaaange. Phar out. My vote still goes to Juanes.

I feel like foot tapping!

I treated myself to a meal @ Burger King yesterday, to celebrate me passing my semester. It was well deserved (in my opnion) and while I was downing my "Angry Whopper" meal, Scissor Sisters come on in the radio....it was hilarious to see 4-5 people in the line starting to quietly sing along or tapping their feet....I guess the song's contageous :-)

Goodie bags!

Today I went shopping! Met up at noon with my new acquaintance Iben, she and I went shopping for birthday presents for Janni & Zenia. We had a lot of mullah to burn, so we bought jewelry from Pilgrim and mango and coco products from The Body Shop and got it all wrapped up in these lovely bags. I'm sure the girls are gonna love'em! :-)

It's bloody windy, 2008 edition

As my most faithful readers will know, I posted a similar post to this one back in 2007 during another winter storm. Anyways, it's on again. The wind is picking up speed, and in the northernmost part of the country there's gonna be hurricane conditions. Thank the lord that I live further down south. I kinda wonder if I'm gonna get any sleep tonight. Either way, I won't blame myself. I'll blame it on the weatherman. :-)

On my to-do list:

Count number of people signed up for the common gift for 2 of the girls from college. Count the money. Buy jewelry.

Done!

Yes darlings, the semester project examn is all over and done with. Just gotta print the cover page now and we're all set!!! Oh sweet baby jesus, FREEEEEDOM! :-))))))))))))))))

Work & more work!

I've worked since 9 AM, working 2 different jobs... I'm beat, but at least I'm making money...

Now climb!

I participated in a wall-climb event @ the Galleri for the first time in my life today! It was fun, challenging and psysically exhausting to move my derriere up that wall. Nevertheless, I made it half way.... ;-)

MacBook Air!!!

It's here, it's queer! So amazingly thin. And only 1,36 kg! That's neat!

Mac Rumors!

UUUUUH! This year's keynote from Steve Jobs of the mighty Apple is about to start in 32 minutes! I can't wait, I love to watch the live blog update by it self!

Just smashing, darling!

I don't know why, but I'm so into Smashing Pumpkins these days. Ironic, as I've never been a big fan before. I've bought a song by them in iTunes, and now I'm posting a video by them. Damnit swup, you groupie! :-)

Space enough?

We'll probably be laughing in 5 years time about how ridiciously little space this is, but for the time being it's pretty damn okay!!!

The Welch Girl

....she's baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Smell the crawfish!

By chance I ended up at K&L's tonight and he was cooking a pasta dish with white wine and crawfish. You know I couldn't resist, and I sat down to eat with them. Oh yeah, and L was looking at realtor's websites, she's all up in our grilles about bying a big house in which we all could live. Stay tuned for updates about that.

Tesco vs. Denmark

Prince Harry.....LOL

Memory of Golden Balls

That basically sums up 2005 for me :-)

The Loft should've stayed upstairs

The first semi-finals of the national eurovision song contest has just concluded. It makes me sad in pants to think that this is what government produced TV has come to. Amateur hosts, cheap production (in an overbudget concert hall), mediocre artists and the most embarrasing of all was the "performance" by Danish dance duo "The Loft".

Their rapper (I believe it was the no-talent little brother of Al Agami, Kuku) forgot his lyrics and made what I can only describe as an "Ashlee Simpson". It was just that horrible to watch. I couldn't help but to laugh out loud and wonder: "Don't these people have rehearsals?"

The Democratic Primaries so far

Numbnut, this one's for you. For the times we shivered together after watching Fahrenheit 9/11 @ the Railway Cinemas and walked back to your apartment and just sat on your couch in silence and realised what was happening to the world under republican rule. Cross your fingers with me and pray for a Democrat. Pray, pray pray! :-)

The Memory of Trees

I went out for a walk to enjoy the light while the sun was still up. I took a stop at my favourite point in the park. This tree grows outside my house on the lawn. It looks so old and wise. I could stare at it for hours and just think about what it could tell me.

Cleaning time!

I'm carrying out bags of trash, vacuuming. recycling bottles and I haven't even had breakfast yet! Weekends become me, what can I say? :-)

Angels in the 80's

I just finished re-watching Angels in America, and rearranging my desk. Sense of purpose, I am very pleased with the result of both. Justin Kirk is a damn fine actor, and I recommend watching "Weeds" or anything else he might be featured in any day of the week.

Turning japanese(I think I'm)

I decided to have sushi for dinner tonight. It's friday and I now officially have 2 days off work with my semester project. I chose to go all out and went to the Galleri and bought fresh maki sushi. I still have the salty taste of the soy and the spicy taste of the wasabi on my tounge. Pure bliss.

夕食!!

Life is a game

What's up with the radar?

I, Authoritarian

I've had the pleasure of using my law-abided right to exercise power today when I ruled in a case between the muncipality and a single mother of 4. It gave me immense satisfaction to rule in favor of the single mother. I hate it when officials abuse their power and I have to come and knock them back in their place and inform them of their responsibility. They oughta know, right?

My special little girl

My heart is like pudding on the floor. My 20-months old niece just keeps getting cuter every time I see her, and now she has started speaking (almost) real words, she calls me "Uncle Ooey"....isn't that the cutest??!?

Hillary for the win!

News report have it, that Hillary Clinton has won the presidential primary in New Hampshire. That makes me very happy, because if I had the right to vote, I would vote for her :-)

Guitar heroes!

It seems that I finally convinced my 2 good friends, numb and the jewish doctor about the benefits and wonderful perks of the Guitar Hero franchise....I've been rocking out on A Flock of Seagull's "I ran" for a long time, and now my peeps are in the house with me....- who knows whats gonna happen when Rock Band drops???!? :-)

You fucking rock, numb!!!! :-)))

The first beautiful skies

This afternoon and early evening has really been a feast for the eyes. A wide open space beneath the heavens for all to enjoy. I know I sure did. :-) (click above to see the full size image)

Unfiltered nights

Naked in thought, naked in person and clothed under the sheets. I like having guests spending the nights on my floor. Reminds me of being a kid in the basement under numb's house. That was where my sense of self really developed, in synergy with my friends...

Paper plates, paper planes

Went downtown with Catboy to buy paper - didn't really decide on what g/m2 I wanted prior to leaving home, but decided to go for a 120 g/m2 which I feel will give me the choice of outputting photos for home use and documents for professional use. That makes a lot of sense, and it feels like kissing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Let's get lost again, DVD edition!

Finally managed to secure a season box I have been wanting to own for a long long time! So happy about this! Can't wait to share this with friends and family :-))))

Gamer's choices

So at the moment I'm writing these lines, a blond college frat boy (known as Catboy) is sitting on my couch playing Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo Wii.... who said mondays aren't fun? ;-)

Woohoo! QAF!

Woohoo is officially my new favourite word in the world, and I've received my QAF season 2 box! It actually arrived before christmas and spent New Years in my neighbours apartment. She was kind enough to sign for it on my behalf. Awesome man, just awesome...

The Hunt is on....

Games! Games! Games! Ever since completing Fahrenheit last night(to which i'm going to dedicate a seperate post later, no doubt about it) I've been anxious to get my hands on something new and exiting, and I think this game may just be more that I've bargained for, it being banned in Australia and everything...so expect to hear more about this violent mess of a game later. My special thanks go out to numbnut without whom I've wouldn't have picked up the game anyway.

Lucky there's a family guy

Watched Family Guy season 1 earlier today. That show still cracks me up, even if the first season is ever so slightly more mellow compared to the madness of later seasons. Love the randomness of the events and flashbacks.

Market economy and me!

I've got a job! Yes, I've re-entered the working forces on an official basis, no more freelancing for mr. Man for a while.... Why? Because I so need a steady income, if I'm every gonna pay for a gazillion airline tickets. United Airlines are calling me every other day, screaming for money, it's horrible :-) Not gonna tell you what I'm doing because you don't deserve to know, but it's got to do with publishing and that's close enough to home for me to feel comfortable.

Cake of plenty....

Picked up 5 of these buns of chocolate love at the local bakery yesterday. I somehow feel like it's exactly what is needed to fend off the cold outside.

The Hi-res revolution that didn't really happen...

Yup, so I'm kinda doing: Have watched Pirates3, found it to be a big bunch of blah and confusing as hell, thinking about returning 90210 season1 box (xmas present) and really have to catch up on watching Angels in America. Thank god I've got my Saturday off...

A 90's classic, part deux

Okay so I know that this song technically belongs in the 2000's but it's just by a hair and a thread :-) Enjoy a'plenty!!

A New Year!

Blogyear2. I just want to bury myself i blankets and duvets and tell myself that I'm okay with doing it. In reality I'm not, cause I've got way too much energy to burn. I feel inspired by a blog I just read, I feel invigorated by my study group work today, and I feel alive, a little bit more every day, 'cause everyday we spend in this new year brings me one step closer to new york, once again. And this time, Fluffy might just be by my side :-)
