It started out so well...

So it's the webcast of the second round of semifinals in the national eurovision song contest 2008. The first 2 songs were well written, well performed. And then Simon Mathew came on looking all suave, and with extremely silly and forgettable lyrics. Not that cool. Then it was a smoke and mirrors performance by Kendra Lou. A ballad with 4 dancers in a frame. Not an internatinal winner. And the songwriters love their own product waaay too much. Sweet memories of you is a motown rip-off, with the female having a weak vocal, and the male part having a terrible stage presence. Spanish soul sounded like a 2008 rerip of Aud Wilken, only way worse in its own regard. I immedeately raised my eyebrows when I heard that Lise Cabble had a song in the mix this year. 2 bad it was in English. It lost a lot of its appeal because of that. And also the singer toally exaggerated his performance. I think I'm starting to sound a little bitter, aren't I? Faroe punk finalized the show. It was actually the most entertaining entry all night. Totally predictable, and with 4 pharaoes. Straaaange. Phar out. My vote still goes to Juanes.
