May 4: A free country

So today marks the 62nd anniversary of the liberation of Denmark.


That's a long time ago, even though my grandparents remeber it like it was yesterday.


I guess when you've seen a World War, it stays with you. Even if Nazi Germany is a long gone memory, the people who were there still recall it vividly.



Like blinding off the windows at night. Even the Varnæs family had to do it.
